WHO IS
KAYLA JOAN?

Well, it’s me. First name Kayla, middle name Joan (after my incredibly badass late grandmother).

Born in Wisconsin. Grew up in the UP of Michigan. Spent most of my 20’s in Colorado. Landed in Montana and won’t ever leave.

I am formally schooled in Finance and Marketing. I love learning all things finance and business - I just love numbers! BUT I also love being creative - the best of both worlds? I think so. I’ve been taking photos for over a decade. Good photography can leave clues and tell stories better than words sometimes. I love the way it connects humans to memory and emotion in such a visceral way. Of all the parts in my creative process, taking photos is by far my fave.

I’m a self-taught designer. Studying good design used to be a thing I did for fun and now it’s something that I do and I get paid for it. I live for working with people on projects that they’re excited about. I will be your loudest cheerleader and biggest fan because helping others succeed is what I hope will be my legacy.
